    1. Just recuperating after major spinal surgery - the 2nd class I discovered NO huge picnic tables put back under the trees for my sessions. A FM Gala had caused them to be moved - maintenance was unavailableAll I do is sleep, No staff informed me before morning of class.
My FB staff person was absent that day. She scheduled my special drawing sessions to start simultaneously with microphoned story telling group - a lovely experience for young children! As a result I stayed 1 hour later twice - I also brought mh oen supplies REAL drawing paper & assortment of creative drawing tools - everyone w/o exception enjoyed both sessions.

More in this “story” wherein a teaching artist tries but fails to find honorable treatment, truthful exchanges, a place to shart both art & New England historic artwork - sad for my students whom I’d encouraged to begin their own drawing portfolios. I was able to be of use & encourage several.
A young student however & an older friend had their images pilfered of sorts for the 2024 classes - no discussion, no communication - poor administration!

    2. I nisplaced today’s second second - I soept TODAY the day if my major surgery for my back. I think you kbow how I may have injured my back.the FM Director did call last Summer for sudden minor back surgery after that second class. I joined the museum as a member last year - never permitted to present my other potential courses - my ideas to curate a FM exhibition,

Why do museums hire staff who truly are missing valued experience that would shine a light on mistreatment of independent artists? I was asked to conduct a winter drawing show of the FM train - these three classes were never cancelled and I was ignored calling weeks before the start this past year!
I onlg received ONE sentence out if the blue that said my Summer 2024 would not take place! Nothing else! It was sent after I needed to reschedule my third class - I had been advised by a surgeon i called suddenly mid-week when my back suddenly became very panful.

You can view a large historic drawing of an historic horse guard troop at Newtown Municipal Center - 6 foot charcoal of unity - bare back riders on their mounts swimming in LI Sound! The town asked to borrow it 12 years ago after Sandy Hook tragedy. It had heen my last drawing for soli NYC gallery exhibition - my Mom died at agr 100 in Newtown & I displayed the show in the center!

Other historic museums may have been esger to share huge drawings with young visitors or older students who msy major in fine art! I have taught ALL levels !!

Well perhaps enough has been said - my back held ip through 26 marathons & winning first femsle in a triathlon. However, some museums set up dangeous conditiins!

Being charitable I caution FB to help the teacher of my upcoming sessions - place the tables back for her. For this horse guard historian $ former trooper the resoinsibikities hsve bern missed-avoided / I have bern treated most poorly and as a former Arts Administrator working with musrums around the country & teaching & painting - maybe the FM Board has a backbone -and also will secure simple courtesy if nothing more !
